A Healthy and Beautiful Smile for Migrant Children

Apr.10.2014

In April Kidstrong began its spring semester dental checkups for the fifth grader migrant children at Limin, Jinde, Changlin, Shouchun (Pudong District), and Maqiao (Minhang District) Schools. Shanghai Ren’ai Hospital offered great support in the check-ups and also the treatment of the 729 students.

Of these, 368 had cavities, and 290 were treated in the hospital. The students with more severe cavities will receive root canals at the hospital with their parents. All these services were provided to the children free of charge, including the follow-up with 13 children with eye problems. Doctors examined them and they will receive new eyeglasses shortly.
