Dec.28.2016

On December 2nd, 2016, the volunteers from Cardinal Health came to Shouchun migrant school for the second KidStrong program volunteer activity. This time, there were two themes: nutrition and sports, aiming to help kids to grow healthily.

The activities began with a simple yet memorable donation ceremony. On behalf of Cardinal Health Foundation, Eric Zwisler, the Chairman of Cardinal Health China presented the students with nutritious food and a Kick Temple inflatable football field on the ceremony. Subsequently, the student representatives offered a red scarf, the signal of honor, to each volunteer and a thank-you letter to Cardinal Health.

After the donation ceremony, the nutrition education volunteer team taught the importance of nutritious breakfast and the food pyramid through an illustrated story book. Nutrition lessons were carried in a relaxing atmosphere. And, students are made aware of the negative influences of junk food on their health via stories and discussion.

Meanwhile, the sports volunteer team led 20 boys and girls from the 4th grade to compete in football matches at the new KT football field. The football matches were both competitive and engaging. The students not only enjoyed sports but also fostered team spirits.
