Schools

Since its founding in 1999, Shanghai Roots & Shoots has carried out many successful programs for the environment, animals and community: YP Recycling 2004,Save the Siberian Tiger Program, Chimp Habitat Renovation Program with the Shanghai Zoo, the Million Tree Program, Eco-Audit Program, Environmental Curriculum Program, Global Neighbors Program, Partnership in Understanding, No Plastic Bags Campaign, Migrant School Physical Education Program, Poverty Alleviation Program in Anhui provence, and the Cancer Patient Advocacy program. There are also many school-specific programs such as “Keep Toads Away From The Table” program in Qingpu High School, “Rainwater Recycling System” program in Rainbow Bridge International School, and “Small Handkerchief, Big Difference” program in Subsidiary School of Shanghai Foreign Languages Institute.

The extracurricular Roots & Shoots groups carry out various self-designed programs independently. They share the outcomes with their teachers, classmates, and friends. In doing so, they have learned a lot about project planning and management. More importantly, these groups witness first-hand the environmental changes directly brought about by their own actions.

If you are a student, and if you have a group of like-minded partners, you can establish your own Roots & Shoots group in your school, your community, or in the business world.

As long as you believe in the objectives of Roots & Shoots and are interested in our programs, you can apply to register as a Roots & Shoots group. You can choose the most convenient way to join us.
