In campus life, everyone will make a lot of garbage, or drink bottles, or old books that have been learnt, or the express boxes that have just been removed. But nowadays, most of the domestic refuse will not be distinguished whether it can be recycled or not, and it is abandoned at the same time, which not only causes the destruction of the living environment, but also causes the waste of resources. In order to guide students to set up environmental awareness, our group is assisted by the Hongkong Environmental Protection Association to held the activity of Environment-friendly Drifter a few days before and after the “Bachelor’s Day” in November 11, 2017. Students can exchange the recyclable rubbish to our previously made environmentally friendly drifting bottle, and we can write a blessing note from our behalf to one’s dormitory who appointed by an appointment. In the activity, our funds are mainly used to buy bottles and other raw materials required for manufacturing. A total of more than 20 members of the group participated in it. We prepared the propaganda video and went into the class to propagandize our activities. At the same time, we promoted the popularity and participation of the activities by spreading the publicity at the entrance of the canteen. After that, we began to sign up and start collecting recyclable garbage from the students. Then we 20 members of the group for three days to made and produced a total of one hundred and fifty bottles, and eventually all the bottles were sent to the reservations.
Because there are few students in the Shanghai Customs College, our activities are not going to have a greater impact than expected. However, the students’ overall participation has been relatively high, which has aroused the students’ greater interest in the campus. Everyone’s awareness of environmental protection has also been improved, and team members have been given a rare opportunity to exercise. The ability to organize activities of us was tested, but it was also promoted.
The biggest disadvantage of this activity is that the division of labor is not clear. In earlier stage, our group members’ communication was few, which led to some misunderstanding about task arrangement and message transmission. Our next event will draw on the experience and lessons and enhance our communication. At the same time, we hope if holding similar activities next time, we can break through the limitations of the campus, so that the surrounding residents can also participate in our environmental dream, and cause some social benefits.
