2014 Earth Day: Let’s Recycle!

April 22 is Earth Day and it’s the important event for protecting the earth worldwide. To celebrate this special day, the Walt Disney Finance Department teamed up with Shanghai Roots & Shoots to bring recycling to the Nanjing East Road community.
The recycling campaign consisted of classroom teaching, exchange of recyclables and two interactive games. Disney volunteers taught two classes on the importance of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and the basic sorting standards both in homes and in communities.
At the same time, another group of volunteers managed game booths to help the residents learn how to recycle; and raised awareness by inviting residents to bring recyclables from home in exchange of gifts. Nearly 200 residents of Nanjing East Road community actively participated in the half-day campaign.The day concluded in great success! The residents left with happy smiles and a commitment to do their part to help Mother Earth!
