According to local climate condition and hydrologic regime, we have planted a mix of species to ensure successful planting. Maple trees and willows were adopted as border trees, and scotch pines, maples and poplar were planted inside the plot. Caragana were planted around the moving sand dune.
Scotch pines are mainly four years old, and maples, poplars and caragana are mostly one year old. The MTP team will follow up with fostering, watering and weed control to help increase the survival rates. According to the inspection on May 12th, the survival rate is estimated to be 85%.
