Shanghai Roots & Shoots needs corporate support. We sustain all of our programs, all of our outreach to schools, and all of our educational initiatives on donations. Corporate contributions are critical to our success. We’d like to become critical to your success, too. Getting your staff and employees involved in corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs increases employee morale, builds up corporate team spirit, and shows your workers that their company is willing to ‘give back’ to China. Studies show that CSR involvement improves corporate loyalty and enthusiasm. What a great way to motivate your staff! Shanghai Roots & Shoots manages many national programs that your employees may participate in. We welcome corporate staff involvement in every aspect of what we do. Volunteering times with Shanghai Roots & Shoots are very flexible—weekends, after-work hours, late afternoons—we will accommodate anyone wishing to be involved with us. What can they do?

• Mentor a Roots & Shoots after school group: once or twice a month, meet with the same group at a local school from 3 to 5 pm.

• Help a school group to manage a project, write up a report, or think up ways to make the world a greener place.

• Bring our “Million Tree Project” to your office: let your employees learn about the importance of tree planting in Inner Mongolia. Set a goal to raise funds for a corporate forest.

• Invite an “Eco-Office” team (of R&S students) to come and evaluate the environmental-friendliness of your office. Then calculate your carbon footprint and make efforts to offset your annual carbon emissions by buying trees in Inner Mongolia.

• Introduce Eco-Office teams to other companies that you know

• Donate glasses to children at one of the migrant schools we work with.

• Contribute to the “No Plastic Bags” campaign, which educates the local school students about the negative aspects of plastic, and then give them all reusable bags. Your company could get your logo out in an eco-friendly way by helping us buy 10,000 cloth bags.

• Need calendars for corporate gifts? We produce wonderful calendars with our R&S kids’ artwork on them. Remind the gift’s recipient that you support the environment every day of the year.

• Do you like to garden? Become a mentor for our Organic Garden program: take your skills to one school, and help the R&S group plant their garden.

There are many ways to get involved. We welcome you to start to make a positive impact on our planet by working with Shanghai Roots & Shoots and the children of China.
