KidStrong丨Celebrating the National “Love Your Teeth” Day

On September 20th, KidStrong program staff and the dentists and nurses from KidStong’s corporate collaborator Sunny Dental celebrated the National Love Your Teeth Day with the first graders at Yumiao migrant school in Minhang District, Shanghai. The dentists and nurses taught the students to brush their teeth correctly and fluoridized the students’ teeth to prevent cavities.

First of all, the nurses gave a short presentation on cavity, which is followed by a hands-on demonstration of the “circle brushing teeth” method. This method is simple and easy to learn, so it is especially suitable for children. While one nurse was helping a student brush her teeth by circle brushing method in the front, other students learnt from the nurse to brush their own teeth. Finally, the dentists and nurses fluoridized the teeth of about 150 students from the first grade.

From this activity, the students learnt to brush teeth in a correct way and the importance of brushing teeth frequently and regularly. The Fluoridization also helped the students and us reach our common goal: No Cavity!
