Shanghai Roots & Shoots Celebrates 2023 Tree Planting Day with B.Braun and The Primary School Attached to Shanghai No.1 Normal School
Mar.13.2023
It’s the 45th National Tree Planting Day this year. On March 7, B.Braun and Shanghai Roots & Shoots staff planted trees with students and teachers at The Primary School Attached to Shanghai No.1 Normal School. The students were taught about the importance of trees in the ecosystem. Tree Planting Day is also a special day to remind us of going eco-friendly.
Hanlong Chen, Regional Affair Manager of the Million Tree Project, demonstrated how to plant a tree. The steps included digging the hole, planting the sapling, backfilling, and watering. The students followed every step carefully to make sure that the saplings would grow strong. Hanlong then told the students that tree plays an important role in combating desertification and restoring ecosystem. The students actively engaged in the learning process.
After everyone completed their tasks, the students joyfully took pictures with their saplings. The Primary School Attached to Shanghai No.1 Normal School has been one of the most engaged member schools of Shanghai Roots & Shoots. The students and teachers have participated in YES program for many years. Shanghai Roots & Shoots presented a certificate to the school in appreciation of their support!
B.Braun has been continuously donating to the Million Tree Project and YES program for a decade now! B.Braun Forest has planted 70,250 trees in the desertified areas in Inner Mongolia. B.Braun staff have continued volunteering to teach Sustainable Development related theme lessons to the children. The total volunteer hours were more than 300 hours and benefited nearly 300 students.
