The World Earth Day Events | SRS & Let’s Flourish well – LOHAS Market

On April 22, 1970, the citizens took to the street, calling for environmental issues， trying to deal with the escalating pollutions problems. World Earth Day was born. This day was built on the genuine concern for the Earth, has been making people realize that good things happen because of good people.

During April 12 to April 21, Shanghai Roots & Shoots joined the Let’s Flourish well – LOHAS Earth Day Market cohosted by LOHAS and Taikoo Li QianTan, where interesting souls were attracted to, shared the love for nature, art and life. They practiced to lead an earth-friendly and sustainable living style.

At the market, our volunteers shared stories of fighting against desertification fundraise for trees planted to restore the desertified areas. Through interactive games and patient answers from volunteers, visitors gained a deeper understanding of the Million Tree Project and expressed their willingness to pay more attention and support to desertified areas.

In the process of changing degraded land with severe soil erosion to restored land benefiting the local residents, countless conservationists have devoted decades to it. Every individual matter. Although the donations may be small, one person can plant a tree and lots of people can plant a forest. Thanks to the volunteers of Shanghai Root & Shoots for their support day and night.
