Eco Office Training – Spring 2013
Mar.24.2013
More than twenty volunteers participated in the first training workshop of the Shanghai Roots & Shoots Eco Office Program on March 24th, 2013. Students from Nanjing Agricultural University were special guests invited to the workshop.
An ice breaking game helped students get to know each other and make friends.
The training workshop was roughly divided into three parts. The first part was the general program introduction, including what roles the volunteers would play and what evaluation methods should be used. The second part was presented by two engineers , who introduced how environmental air detectors function. The volunteers quickly learned how to use the sophisticated devices. The third part talked about how to write an evaluation report. The volunteers would include in the report proposed solutions to the office management to reduce carbon emission.
After the training, the students asked what individuals could do in everyday life to protect the environment. We hope these young environmental auditors will apply the knowledge learned very soon.
