KidStrong Dental Checkup for Migrant Children

KidStrong finished its annual dental checkups for partner migrant schools in early April. With the help from Shanghai Ren’Ai Hospital International Patient Center, KidStrong was able to bring dentists to four schools in Minhang District and in Pudong District in April 2013. 591 fifth graders from Maqiao, Jinde, Changlin and Limin Migrant Schools received a thorough examination. Dentists at the hospital are now working on the number of students who need treatment and the right treatment for each one. In late May, KidStrong will send students with cavity problems to Ren’Ai hospital to receive treatment. Those students with severe cavity problem will need to have Root Canal Treament. They will go to the hospital with their parents to receive the treatment. The treatment expenses will be covered by KidStrong program.
