Organic Garden丨Spring Planting Event in Sanquan Road Elementary School

March 12^th is the Arbor Day in China. On this annual occasion, 10 employees from Cummins (China) Investment Co., Ltd volunteered to help with the Spring Planting Event in Sanquan Road Elementary School. The event aimed at giving students as well as volunteers the opportunity to experience organic planting and to understand its importance to our surrounding environment.

The event includes two parts which are indoor preparation and in-field planting. Students, together with volunteers as a group, learned how to differentiate seeds and their planting methods. Besides, they also made their unique farm signs identifying each group’s plants.

Students finished the whole planting process successfully under the instructions of volunteers. Four groups planted 2 kinds of lettuce, bokchoy and amaranth respectively.

On this meaningful occasion of Arbor Day, students and volunteers not only learned some planting techniques but also realized the importance and enjoyment of organic planting.
