AMAT Family Day: Release Positive Energy
May.13.2013
On May 12th, Applied Materials Family Day: Release Positive Energy was carried out successfully at Shanghai Oriental Greenland. As the long-term partner of Applied Materials China, Shanghai Roots & Shoots set up a booth to raise public awareness of environmental protection. The exhibition booth was crowded with people. Many parents brought their children over to inquire how schools could get involved with Roots & Shoots YES Program. They were particularly interested in the garbage sorting game: participants familiarized themselves with rules of garbage sorting by casting different kinds of garbage into the proper categories they belonged to.
Initiated in 2005, the YES Program is dedicated to promoting environment education for youth. Each year, Shanghai Roots & Shoots selects and trains outstanding volunteers to teach environmental lessons in local primary and middle schools. Currently, the YES Project has involved over 50 schools in Beijing, Xi’an, Suzhou, Wuxi and Shanghai, raising environmental awareness in the general public.
YES Program hereby extends sincere gratitude to its long-standing partner Applied Materials for the continued support!
