Green Today – The Million Tree Project 3·12
Mar.12.2013
To advocate China’s Planting Festival on March 12th, Shanghai Roots & Shoots started a activity on Weibo, encouraging all people to plant something on their own, or participate in pertaining activities, aiming to publicise the idea of green life.
In Resolutions on the nationwide voluntary tree-planting, it clearly states that any resident over 11 years old is obligated to plant 3 – 5 trees per year. In Shanghai, as many teens want to plant trees, the fact lies that there’s no enough space. Specifically at this issue, Shanghai Roots & Shoots said through Weibo: plants are the best filter, and the only weapon against PM2.5. We should all try to plant. Shanghai Roots & Shoots was willing to plant one tree for anyone who posted picture, and everyone has a chance to win the limited 50 special souvenirs, including bamboo-made name card cases, corn-like calculators, and handkerchieves.
In only a few days, 168 fans participated, and 64 posted pictures through Weibo. Thank you everyone!
