Nanjing Normal University is located in Nanjing which is the birthplace of higher normal education. Now, it is one of the key universities in Jiangsu Province. Its predecessor was the Sanjiang Normal College founded in 1902. In 1952, Nanjing Normal College was founded on the basis of Nanjing University and Jinling University. In 1984, it changed the name into Nanjing Normal University. The university aims to build a comprehensive university with distinct characteristics and becomes a teaching and research university among the first-class in China.
