OG Training & Spring Planting Event in Haihong Elementary School

On March 24^th, staff from Roots & Shoots held a special training session of Organic Garden Program for students in Haihong Elementary School in Chongming. The training included three parts which were introduction of Roots & Shoots, “Life of Milk”, and in-field planting, and it lasted one and a half hour.

Students all showed great appreciation to Ms. Jane Goodall and her efforts to study and protect chimpanzees after listening to the introduction of Roots & Shoots. In addition, the students also actively participated in Q&A session.

During the game session, students learned about the critical significance of every single step of the production of organic milk.

Students finished the whole planting process successfully under instructions of Roots & Shoots staff. Roots & Shoots aimed at letting students understand organic agriculture and organic food, and aimed at giving students the opportunity to experience organic planting and its importance to our surrounding environment.
