Roots & Shoots Recycling Project on Campus
Dec.6.2013
On Friday, December 6th, Roots & Shoots group members from Shanghai Foreign Language School headed to Sixth Primary School Affiliated to Shanghai Normal University (SNU) to teach garbage sorting on campus. Meanwhile, Roots & Shoots members from East China University of Political Science and Law carried out the same training workshop for the freshmen.
The workshop was divided into three parts: the concept of recycling, the environmental damage caused by unsorted garbage, and an interactive game on recycling. At Sixth Primary School Affiliated to SNU, 39 third-graders enthusiastically participated in the game and practiced garbage sorting along the process.
Roots & Shoots members from East China University of Political Science and Law, on the other hand, designed a poster prior to the training and made presentations in the freshmen dormitory building. Through the training, students learned about the environmental damage caused by unsorted garbage and understood the concept that garbage is simply resource put in the wrong place.
