2011 “Shanghai College Students’ Green Camp” Concluded Successfully
On August 6th, R&S staff member Yang Qing attended the Shanghai College Students’ Green Camp closing ceremony. There, she was invited as a judge to comment on the Green Camp investigation products.
Shanghai College Students’ Green Camp is organized by students who come from universities all over Shanghai. They all share one thing in common: a passion for environmentalism. This green camp devotes itself to advocating for and educating others on environmentalism, with the goal of advancing environmental protection on an international level.
Green Camp is a place for “green” youths to grow and flourish. This year’s Green Camp, took the theme: “Investigation of a Green Economy, Establishment of an Eco-City – Research on Waste Sorting”. At the camp, students researched the waste sorting status in communities and sought to promote the city’s waste sorting habits.
The thirteen-day-camp encouraged each student’s development. To research for the final showcase, the Green Camp participants were divided into two groups. At the final showcase, each group gave teaching demonstrations and answered questions. Afterwards, the judges also raised questions and commented on the products. Finally, the guidance teacher of Shanghai College Students Green Camp and Shanghai Normal University, Professor Tao Kanghua, made the concluding speech and declared the conclusion of that year’s camp.
Shanghai R&S takes pleasure in their involvement of Shanghai College Students’ Green Camp in 2011, and intends to carry on the camp’s message of teenage education on environmentalism.
