The Seventh Shanghai Philanthropic Partnership Day
Sep.20.2017
The 7th Philanthropic Partnership Day (PPD) was successfully held between September 15 and September 17 at Shanghai Gongyi Xintiandi, home to dozens of grassroots non-profit organizations. The theme of PPD this year was to cultivate philanthropy in the city of Shanghai.
Ten Best NGOs, ten Best Volunteer Projects and ten Best Charity stories were acknowledged at the PPD. Moreover, about 500 local non-profit organizations and social enterprises participated in the event, seeking potential partners while showcasing their projects.
Shanghai Roots & Shoots’ volunteers displayed the process of making recycled paper coasters. These coasters served as a reminder that we could make full use of wastes. The ingredients included paper people had thrown away and petals of withered flowers.
Over 14 thousand local non-profit organizations have been registered in Shanghai. They devote themselves to community services, environmental conservation, disaster relief, search and rescue and so forth. Under the guidance and with the critical support of the Shanghai government, non-profit organizations are making a continued contribution to building a better, brighter future for Shanghai.
