The Stars loved the Expo and the Buns

In the afternoon of August 27, the Xi’an World Expo 2011 welcomed two stars: Hu Yanbin and Boyz II Men singer, Wanyá Morris. The co-operation of an oriental and a western star was the first of its kind since start of the expositions. This drew the attention of media from all over the country. At the Expo, Hu Yanbin and Wayná Morris planted trees together at the Star-garden and then went to the Huanxisha Stage. There, they made recycled bags with R&S staff and the audience. They also donated 2000 oxygen-producing trees to the Million Tree Project. 

Xi’an World Expo 2011 was arguably the most significant exhibition ever since the foundation of the PRC. Xi’an, being both modern and traditional, made a profound impact on the world with this event. The site had been well organized and very appealing. Many stars, including Yao Ming, had made appearances.

Boyz II Men

Wanyá Morris and Hu Yanbin came to Xi’an after receiving invitations to sing in one of the 828 concerts of the Expo. On the afternoon of the 27th, they arrived at the Expo Star Gardon and to give out pictures and sign autographs. The leaders of the Expo presented the two stars with environmental ambassador certifications. They then planted cherry trees, to symbolize peace, friendship, and environment with children from the mountain regions.

Afterwards, they went to the Huanxisha Stage, where R&S staff were giving a presentation on the environment. The celebrities joined them and started making recyclable paper together; this captured the audiences’ interest and excitement. Finally, Wanyá Morris and Hu Yanbin painted their bags, autographed them, and donated them to the Expo.

Love filled the Expo

The most exciting moment of the expo was the donation of 2,000 oxygen-producing trees. In addition to that, the profits from the 828 concerts were partly donated to the Million Tree Project. MTP is a famous charity project created by R&S. The goal of the project is to plant a million trees to help fight against global warming and desertification in Northern China. On the stage, Boys II men and Hu Yanbin gave a check to MTP, enough to fund the planting of 2,000 oxygen-making trees. The Expo was also given the honor of naming the forest. Every April, donors can go to Inner Mongolia and visit the forest. 

After the Expo ended, Boyz II men and Hu Yanbin were impressed by the event. They expressed that it was one of the most beautiful showcases and the audience was one of the most enthusiastic they had ever seen. They loved the people in Xi’an and loved the Expo, and promised that they would spread the ideas of environmental protection to even more friends.

Xi’an Specialties Attracted Stars

It is rumored that before coming to Xi’an, Boyz II men had been curious about the Terracotta Warriors and the Shaanxi province style mutton and bread soup. The band was eager to experience these specialties, so it seems that these traditional specialties in Xi’an have gone international. It is quite possible that the owner of a soup shop will meet some of the greatest stars in the world.
