Volleyball Salon was successfully held
Nov.20.2013
On Nov. 17, 2013, Shanghai Roots & Shoots, together with Shanghai Men’s Professional Volleyball Team, Environmental Protection Association of Fudan University, and Fudan University Volleyball Association, initiated a special volleyball event for more than 80 volleyball enthusiasts from men’s volleyball fan club, Shanghai Normal University, and 7 other universities. This event was not only a way that allowed the volunteers to express their skills on the court, but also a farewell ceremony for the retiring men’s professional volleyball players.
The entire event was separated into two components: warm-up games and official games. The warm-up games also consist two parts: digging and passing practises. Under the patient explanations from the professional players, the participants have not only understood the fundamental rules of volleyball, but also mastered the constitutional skills required to play volleyball.
Score-keeping warm-up games depend greatly on the players’ abilities of team working. Nevertheless, the real challenge therein, which tested the privities between players, was the official games. The champion team of the official games received autographs from the professional players and green corn calculators as prizes, while the runner-up team received eco-friendly anti-mosquito candles.
This event received strong support from the Shanghai Men’s Professional Volleyball Team, who has already won ten championships in the volleyball league. Since the initiation of the initiation of China’s Professional Volleyball League in 1996 to 2013, the Shanghai Men’s Professional Volleyball Team has won a total of ten championships. Even though the senior professional players who have led the Shanghai Men’s Professional Volleyball Team are retiring, others have recognized their amazing performances on the volleyball court as legends.
Even though the professional players are leaving the volleyball courts to start new lives, their performances and efforts will never be forgotten by others, and their stories will be passed down to future generations as anecdotes that will deliver valuable lessons to our kids.
