Winter Volunteer Gathering – Aquatic Plants DIY
Dec.21.2012
December 21st, 2012 15 Roots & Shoots volunteers gathered together for a fun activity.
Using a simple PowerPoint to explain the definition, characteristics and ways of raising aquatic plants, Frank kick-started the activity. A question and answer session warmed up the participants. They guessed the names of the plants to win prizes. Some of the names that were harder to guess included Tree Peony,Wavestar and Nagi. However, with the help of internet, the participants figured out the correct answers in the end.
Through the DIY game that followed, it was evident that each participant was quite creative. They decorated drinking glasses with logos of their favorite sports teams, a sand painting or a note to a future friend etc. None of them were the same and each was unique in its own way.
To celebrate Christmas, each participant spray-painted on glass to send best wishes for the new year.
