2017 USC SCervice Day

On 11th March 2017, USC Alumni Club of Shanghai organized two events – Charity run and school gardening – for alumni in Shanghai and nearby region to participate the USC SCervice Day. This year the club cooperated with Shanghai Roots & Shoots to service the community with the passion to improve the environment.

 

There were in total 45 participants, including alumni, family and friends, joined these events on that day. Among these participants, 15 joined the Charity run and contributed in total of 81 kilometers. During the charity run, alumni of Shanghai club raised 7200 RMB fund to support the Shanghai Roots & Shoots “Million Tree Project”. The rest of the participants joined afternoon “School Gardening Project” in a local high school. They planted flowers in portable pockets and decorated along the resting area in the garden. The participants also took the chance learned helpful organic planting techniques.

 

Beside the activities, the club successfully raised 12,300 RMB funding to support Shanghai Roots and Shoots. The fund were handed over to Shanghai Roots & Shoots on the 15th of March.
