KidStrong | 2018 KidStrong Summer Camp – Experiencing Shanghai

Jun.26.2018

KidStrong recently held a two-day summer camp for 18 underprivileged students from six partner migrant schools.

On June 9, students visited two museums and watched movies. On the next day, they took natural lessons and had tremendous fun in Disneyland.

Day 1, June 9 – Museum Tour and Movie Watching

The first day was spent at Shanghai Natural History Museum and Shanghai Glass Museum. Guides at the museum delighted the children with the origin of life and evolution of natural ecology. And then, the students watched a 4D movie named “Panda Gwen Gwen”, followed by a visit to Shanghai Glass Museum. In the Museum of Glass, the students were immersed a magic glass world and walked a special glass maze.

Day 2, June 10 – Fun at Disneyland

Twelve students from three KidStrong partner schools joined in the second day activities. The second day was spent at Shanghai Disney Land. In the early morning, the students received two natural lessons by the Wishing Star Lake located near the Shanghai Disneyland Park. The two classes were “aqua-scientists” and “little natural detective”. In Disneyland, the students were very excited and played as many games as time allowed.

During the camp, KidStrong also arranged various healthy meals for the students which include typical Shanghai-style dinner and snacks, and foods at Disneyland. So, the students could not only experience Shanghai’s sceneries but also Shanghainese food.

Judging by the amount of laughters over the two days, the children really enjoyed the camp, and we hope they take away with them great memories of this adventure.
