Once they were abandoned and left on the side of the street, hurt, alone and terrified of the world.
However the moment you put shelter over their heads, their hearts will be filled with love.
For in your eyes, they are the most beautiful angels.
Are you ready to take them home?
May 9th, 2015 will be the Day.
Together with Ms. Wang Animal Shelter, Shanghai Roots & Shoots is hosting an Adoption Day Rainbow Party. If you love animals, you are welcomed to join us!
Time: May 9th, 2015 (Saturday), 12:30 p.m. to 16:00 p.m.
Location: DALIAH Restaurant, 408 at North Shanxi Road (crossing of North Shanxi Road and West Beijing Road)
What Can You Do at the Party? You CAN:
- Play with dogs and take them home.
We will have 20 sweet dogs from the shelter at the party. Get to know them. If you are ready to take one of them home, you can register with Ms. Wang onsite.
Notes: Please follow the volunteers’ instructions when interacting with dogs.
- Consult with experts and learn more about keeping dogs as pets.
Having trouble with your canine friend? Don’t worry about it at all. Our vets and volunteers will help solve your problems.
- Say “Cheese!” — Hug Me if You Love Me.
You can hug a life-sized stuffed dog toy and upload the picture to WeChat Moments or Weibo with a tweet starting with “Love for Dogs on Shanghai Roots & Shoots Dogs Adoption Day”. You might win a small prize from us.
- Charity Bazaar
Buy a special DIY Rainbow bracelet and it will pay for the food for a dog for one day. Hand-made cookies and various secondhand items will also be on sale to raise money for the shelter. Play your part!
Last but not least, bring your smile and love.
Find a dog a cozy and loving home.
Adopt animals. Never buy pets.

Ms. Wang, a local Shanghainese, has been saving stray and abandoned animals for more than 10 years. Currently over 200 cats and dogs are living and recovering in her shelter in Pudong. All of them are waiting to be adopted by caring families. Give them a home, and they will devote all their affection to you in return. Do not buy pets. Adopt your furry friends from shelters.
