More than half a century ago, a 26 -year-old British girl came to Tanzania, Africa, and began to chase her dream. She then dedicateddecadesto research and protection of wild chimpanzees, which earned her the title of United Nations Messenger of Peace. She is a heroine of environmental conservation, a primatologist, founder of global Roots & Shoots program –she is Dr. Jane Goodall.
One of the major discoveries made by Dr. Jane was that chimpanzees are able tomake and usetools will. She also contributed to the finding of the chimpanzee SIV virus. Dr. Jane changed the way people think of animals and established a new standard of primate study.
Dr. Goodalltravels 300 days a year, inspring young people around the world. Like shoots breaking through think brick walls to reach sunlight, together, young people can overcome difficulties and change the world. Dr. Jane teaches us to never give up on our dreams and to respect all living things.
