Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NUPT) is a key provincial university co-established by MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) of People’s Republic of China and Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government. Owing to its history, the university has been characteristic of high quality graduates with reputations. With engineering as the principal part, information technology and telecommunications as the main features, it offers a wide range of subjects including science, engineering, economics, management, literature, education and arts, most of which are related to applied science and engineering. NUPT has been making efforts to construct harmony-based disciplines upon different levels, running undergraduate, master and Ph.D programs.

Founded in 1942, in the Anti-Japanese War, NUPT was originally a training class whose purpose was to train specialists in telecommunications to serve the war. In 1958, it was authorized by the State Council to establish Nanjing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, an undergraduate college founded upon two independent schools, Nanjing Telecommunication School and Nanjing Post School. In 2005, the university was renamed by the Ministry of Education as the present one—NUPT. Since its establishment, the university has been maintaining the spirit of keeping pace with the times, and developed the school spirit realized as: diligent, realistic, progressive and creative. The university has been enhancing its comprehensive school-runningstrength and upgrading its comprehensive school-running level.

Green Wind Environmetal Protection Association in Nanjing University of Posts and Telecomunications was set up in Octerbor in 2006, with “Green homes, so we love to create” as the purpose, constantly striving to the promotion and popularization of the environmental work on campus , pursuing the happy environmental protection and full participation, focusing on sustainable development, making big influence both in and around our school. Group makes environmental education, community and animal protection as basis. We use innovative performance art to tell the students around us that we should love our planet.
