Eco Office | Adding Some Green to the Office

Since its establishment in 2003, Markem-Imaje (China) Co., Ltd. under Dover Corporation has not only been committed to providing good service to the customers but also adheres to the implementation of sustainable development strategies, enhancing employees’ environmental awareness and contributing to the environment.

In 2021, Dover Corporation participated in the “Million Tree Project” organized by Shanghai Roots & Shoots and donated a corporate forest in Shuangsheng Town, Kezuohou Qi, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia. At the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, Shanghai Roots & Shoots brought the concept of sustainable living to Markem-Imaje office, leading employees to participate in two “Eco Office” workshops.

In the first “Eco Office” workshop，participants played the game of “Carbon Emission Matching” to understand the carbon emissions generated by daily behaviors related to clothing, food, housing, and transportation. They also learned from the story of “Wang and Min” that there are greener and lower-carbon travel options that can help reduce the negative impact on the Earth.

In the second “Eco Office” workshop，everyone used their creativity to make handkerchief prints using fallen leaves, a kind of beautiful elements created by nature. It is replacing disposable tissues or wet wipes with handkerchiefs that helps reduce unnecessary waste and leave a beautiful impression of nature in daily life as well.

Through the two “Eco Office” workshops, Markem-Imaje employees started thinking from the perspective of the office environment, considering the connection between personal choices and carbon emissions. They attempted to reduce negative environmental impacts and practice sustainable lifestyle, adding some green to the office and lightening the burden on the Earth.
