New World Innovations, Heart Charity
On May 14th, 2011, at Intel’s 2nd “New World Innovations”, twenty competitors gathered in Intel Office on the twentieth floor of Beijing Global Trade Center to attend the final event and fight for their last opportunity for glory. Around thirty guests and representatives from various funds and foundations came to witness the final event.
In the event, the 20 contenders each had only 8 minutes to impress the judges. The judges asked each contender about their project’s potential, effects, development and sustainability qualities, in order to help them better understand and judge each project for a final time. The splendid answers and the creativity of each project made it hard for the judges to favor one contestant over another. The results of the competition will be publicly issued at the New World Innovations Charity Creativity Award Award Distribution Ceremony on 15th.
The activity “Break Charity Limit @ Shell Time” began at 2pm on May 15th. The host, Yuquan Wang invited the contestants to talk about their charity experiences and their charity concepts. Then, Shu Liang, from Community of the Borders of the Sky, together with Jun Sun, a Chinese ecological artist and Beijing Chief of Green Cross, teacher Changping Li, and Xingsheng Zhang, the DTC of Northasia Nature Protection Association, all shared their stories on their fields of specialty, ranging from rural communities to corporate elites, from the Internet to reality. Later on in the talks, Xingkang Zhou, from Apple Foundation, Chong Wu, founder of True Love Dream Foundation, Tao Wan, from Eagle Eye Safe Culture Net and Thirteen Princesses – founder of Scientific Squirrels, discussed the power of individual charities and the relationship between charity and business with the previous sharers. These experienced guests definitely triggered the thinking processes of the audiences and brought great anti-echoes.
As Jun Ge, from Intel China, said: “Since the initiation of the 2011 New World Charity Creativity Award, many creative charity projects have surprised and encouraged us. However, due to the limited number of awards we can distribute, there will only be a few of our charity friends who can stand on the stage tonight. Please a round of applause to all of our participating friends”.
The Award Ceremony marked a smooth ending to the judging activity of this year’s New World Innovations, but not an end to the New World Innovations. In the future, there will be many other activities such as Creativity Management Tutorial, Societal Creativity Tour, and New World Charity Creativity Project Case Studies.
We look forward to continued interest and support from our friends!
