No Litter on the Ground
Nov.5.2015
A group of active university students were appointed the CEOs (Creative Environmental Officers) for the No Litter on the Ground Project, a multi-year environmental campaign initiated the Wrigley Company Foundation and the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation. Shanghai Roots & Shoots became an official partner of the project this year and co-organized the kick-off ceremony.
In the past two years, the No Litter on the Ground Project involved over one million university students and residents in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Wuhan. In the 2015-2016 campaign the CEOs from the four cities will take the challenge of making a proposal to promote waste management which will be implemented in local communities. Once these CEOs finish their creative community projects, they will participate in a debate in the final round.
The deputy director of Wrigley PR Ms. Dandan Zheng said it would take much effort for promoting recycling in communities. She applauded the university students who had contributed their creative ideas to greening their communities.
At the kick-off ceremony, popular young author Mr. Haochen Zhang brought his new book, My Promise to the Green Earth, and invited the students in the audience to make their own promises for a greener earth. He also encouraged his fans through Weibo to care for the environment.
In addition, famous movie star Ms. Baihe Bai sent a video message, urging young people to practice recycling in their everyday life.
If you are interested to become a CEO and engage more people in environmental actions, come and join the No Litter on the Ground Project.
