The 31st International Volunteer Day Was Celebrated

On Friday December 2, 2016, three days before the 31st International Volunteer Day, in promoting the development of the philanthropy industry and the volunteer service in Huangpu District, the International Volunteer Day celebration was held at the Huaihai Park.

The celebration was themed to “Volunteer Everyday and Everywhere”, which was co-organized by the Propaganda Department of CPC Huangpu Committee, the Office for Promoting Cultural & Ethical Progress in Huangpu, the Huangpu Volunteer Association and the Information Office of Huangpu District.

Started with a chorus by the pupils from Luwan No.1 Central Primary School, the ceremony reviewed some great volunteer programs that had been carried out during the entire year. The organizations on promoting urban green walls, traffic safety, environmental protection etc. were all presented at the ceremony. Shanghai Roots & Shoots was also invited to introduce its idea on environmental education at the booth.

Due to the continuous contribution, as what Shanghai Roots & Shoots is doing, the philanthropic organizations in Huangpu District have developed profound social impact with a variety of volunteer programs.
