Tongji Town Environmental Protection

R&S Group：East China University of Science and Technology Environmental Group
A group of college students from ECUST (East China University of Science and Technology) who are keen on environmental protection since 2013, joined together to educate Tongji town in Pudong New Area. The activity was aimed to teach children specific information on environmental protection and awareness. Parents were also invited to participate, since it’s an advantage for more people know about this topic. The students regularly traveled to the village to teach and discuss with the committee members on how to create a better life within the community.
The main damage to the environment is waste. The group members, village committee, community residents, and kids collected waste and rubbish that polluted the environment. The second damage to the environment is the lack of greenery. The group tried to convince the village committee to increase greenery in the neighborhood and the community to plant trees together.
