YES Café – 100% Handmade Soap
Sep.25.2015
September 13th, Shanghai Roots & Shoots hosted an “aromatic” YES Café gathering featuring the making of soaps, all natural, which not only clean but also care for your skin with the goodness of nature. Handmade soaps cleanse gently without drying the skin. The recipe is quite easy to follow.
Here is the recipe:
Ingredients: Coconut oil 60g, palm oil 60g, almond oil 60g, castor oil 30g, shea butter 50g, sodium hydroxide 51g, and water 128 ml.
- Dissolve and stir the sodium hydroxide in the water carefully until it cools down to under 50 ℃.
- Mix all the oils together and heat the mixture at a temperature between 35℃-45℃.
- Pour and stir the sodium hydroxide solution into the oil mixture for at least one or two hours (or sometimes much longer, depending on the recipe you choose).
- Finally, pour the mixture into a preferred mold and let it sit for 48 hours before taking it out, carefully, and drying it for about 2 months.
Then, enjoy it!
