The activity spread widely and covered a lot of fields. 200 residents’ committees in Pudong joined in this activity. The speeches towards 98 communities were in the charge of 50 volunteers from Shanghai Roots & Shoots.

At the opening ceremony, the director of EPB gave us a speech. He highlighted the importance of Recycling Program. It was not only for motivating the recycle and reuse of rubbish and saving natural resources, but also for responding to the call of constructing China into a ecological country at the same time.

Speeches of the volunteers were vivid, entertaining, as well as educational. More than 60 community residents listened to the meaning of Recycling Program carefully. They learnt ways to classify the rubbish and joined in the Q&A part eagerly. They expressed their firm and determination of responding to the call of Recycling Program. They would put the spirit and theory of Recycling Program into practice. It’s everyone’s duty to classify the rubbish  since we’re all in a community together.
